Senior Data Centre Design Manager

About the Role
A global cloud infrastructure provider is seeking a Senior Data Centre Design Manager to oversee the delivery of complex, large-scale data centre design projects across the APAC region. This is a high-impact leadership role, responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams, optimizing design performance, and ensuring alignment with strategic business and infrastructure goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead regional engineering teams in delivering critical infrastructure designs for data centre projects
• Oversee project design timelines and manage stakeholder coordination across internal teams and external consultants
• Host regular design and risk review meetings to address key milestones, resolve issues, and align on deliverables
• Track and report on design metrics including cost, quality, and timelines
• Develop and manage capital budgets for design scopes; contribute to regional deployment strategies and business cases
• Collaborate with finance and engineering leadership to secure funding and schedule resources effectively
• Ensure scope, schedule, and quality expectations are clearly defined and met for each project
• Manage design documentation workflows and ensure timely audits of all deliverables
• Interface with permitting authorities and guide projects through the approvals process
• Maintain oversight from early design due diligence through to construction and operations

What You Bring

• Proven experience managing large-scale data centre or infrastructure design projects
• Strong leadership in coordinating cross-functional teams across multiple geographies
• Technical understanding of mission-critical MEP systems and construction environments
• Proficient in managing complex stakeholder environments and project lifecycles
• Familiar with regulatory permitting processes and compliance management
• Skilled in tracking key project KPIs and driving continuous improvement initiatives
• Excellent communicator, comfortable with presenting progress and influencing decision-makers at multiple levels
