Senior MEP Director – Data Centre Construction

Overview
A global data centre developer is seeking a highly experienced Senior MEP Director to oversee the delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects, including both greenfield and brownfield builds. This is a senior leadership role focused on driving the end-to-end execution of data centre development—from early-stage site evaluation through to construction completion.

The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in MEP systems, with particular strength in mechanical engineering, and a track record of managing complex technical builds in high-density environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the full lifecycle of data centre construction projects, including site selection, team setup, design coordination, and delivery
• Oversee project teams and external consultants across engineering studies, feasibility assessments, and design reviews
• Manage stakeholder alignment through regular updates, case presentations, and progress reporting
• Drive innovation in engineering practices and construction methodologies to improve energy and water efficiency metrics (PUE, WUE, carbon emissions)
• Guide the integration of new technologies into design and delivery frameworks
• Ensure alignment between infrastructure design and customer requirements to guarantee timely, high-quality outcomes
• Evaluate and secure critical resources such as power availability and site readiness
• Monitor engineering risks and proactively resolve technical challenges related to cooling, power distribution, redundancy, and system reliability

What You Bring

• Extensive experience managing major infrastructure or data centre developments in an MEP leadership capacity
• Strong background in mechanical and electrical engineering design, with the ability to assess and direct complex systems integration
• Experience leading teams through design, tendering, and construction phases
• Strategic mindset with a focus on continuous improvement, sustainability, and technical excellence
• Strong problem-solving ability and confidence in leading engineering fault analysis and resolution
• Excellent communication skills to engage with executive stakeholders, technical teams, and partners
