Global EHS Lead – Data Centre Infrastructure

Overview
A fast-growing global data centre operator is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Leader to oversee the development and execution of its EHS strategy across international markets. This is a critical leadership role responsible for creating a unified framework for safety and sustainability across new builds and operational facilities worldwide.

You’ll play a key part in embedding global standards, enabling safe project delivery, and aligning EHS practices with environmental goals and business priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Global Strategy & Governance

  • Develop and implement global EHS policies, minimum standards, and audit frameworks
  • Align EHS practices with international regulations, certifications, and ESG objectives
  • Integrate design-for-safety practices across the entire project lifecycle

Incident Management & Safety Performance

  • Lead investigations for major incidents and implement corrective actions
  • Track safety metrics and publish monthly EHS performance dashboards
  • Manage statutory reporting and engagement with regulatory bodies

Training & Contractor Oversight

  • Develop and roll out safety training programs for employees and contractors
  • Review and approve contractor safety plans for alignment with internal standards
  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance and competency on project sites

Construction Safety Management

  • Lead field inspections, safety walkthroughs, and audit activities on active builds
  • Standardize emergency response protocols and escalation procedures
  • Ensure high-risk activities and temporary works are properly documented and managed

Environmental Monitoring & Compliance

  • Monitor environmental impact indicators including emissions, waste, water, and noise
  • Ensure compliance with environmental permits and mitigation measures
  • Support carbon tracking, reporting, and sustainability initiatives

Safety Culture & Engagement

  • Promote visible safety leadership through campaigns and employee engagement
  • Organize regular EHS forums and cross-region learning sessions
  • Foster a proactive, preventative, and no-blame safety culture

What You Bring

  • Proven experience in leading EHS strategy and implementation in a construction, industrial, or mission-critical environment
  • Strong knowledge of construction-phase risks, ISO standards, and regional EHS regulations
  • Experience working in fast-paced, cross-border settings with diverse stakeholder groups
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to influence, engage, and lead through collaboration and example
